It is a great pleasure to announce the second RSSA/NASCI CCTA Course: May 13-17, 2017, a joint venture between the Radiological Society of South Africa (RSSA) and the North American Society of Cardiovascular Imaging (NASCI).

The 40 hour structured and integrated training course will be presented over five consecutive days by an international faculty of 5 leading radiologists under the directorship of Dr Harold Litt (University of Pennsylvania, USA). The esteemed faculty will consist of:

Harold Litt, MD, PhD, FNASCI
Prachi Agarwal, MD, MS, FNASCI
Diana Litmanovich, MD
Eric Williamson, MD
Charles White, MD, FNASCI

The aim of this training course is to:

  • Increase the number of trained and accredited radiologists who can provide a CCTA service. Cardiac CT Angiography is well established and it is imperative that Radiologists continue to provide a cost effective, sustainable and reliable service to patients, clinicians and funders.
  • Provide a local refresher course for those radiologists already trained in CCTA.
  • Provide a local training program for state and academic institutions who can provide the service.

The CCTA course is limited to 100 seats. The structured and integrated course consists of a combination of didactic, self-learning, and hands-on workstation sessions.

Registrants will be individually assessed. This is a requirement of NASCI in order for the ACR accreditation criteria to be fulfilled.

Please note that all previous CCTA training accreditations recorded on the RSSA CCTA register remain applicable.

We look forward to partnering with the RSSA to bring this CCTA course back to South Africa!
