NASCI Fellow Application

Fellows of the North American Society for Cardiovascular Imaging are Physicians or Scientists who have made substantial contributions to NASCI and to the advancement of cardiovascular imaging.  The strong emphasis is placed on service to the society.

To be considered for Fellow Membership, a physician or related scientist must meet the following minimum requirements as determined by the Executive Committee, Fellowship Committee, and outlined in the NASCI bylaws:

  1. Active Membership
    Continuous, active, dues-paid membership in NASCI for at least five (5) consecutive years immediately preceding application.
  2. Sponsorship
    Candidates must be supported by at least one current Fellow Member of NASCI.
  3. Committee Engagement (if applicable)
    Applicants currently serving on a NASCI committee are expected to request a letter of support from their committee chair, with specific commentary on contributions within the past five (5) years.
  4. Recent Contributions to NASCI (Primary Consideration)
    Applicants must demonstrate substantial and sustained contributions to NASCI within the past five (5) years, which will be a primary factor in evaluation.
    Examples include, but are not limited to:
    • Active service on committees or task forces
    • Speaking roles at NASCI annual meetings or educational programs
    • Abstract reviewing, judging, or moderation
    • Participation in NASCI-led writing groups, guidelines, or collaborative initiatives
    • Representation of NASCI in external organizations (e.g., invited lectures, writing groups)

Contributions outside this five-year window may be considered but will carry less weight.

  1. Professional Leadership and Impact in Cardiovascular Imaging
    Applicants should demonstrate leadership and meaningful contributions to the field of cardiovascular imaging, with emphasis on accomplishments within the past five (5) years.
    Examples include:
    • Peer-reviewed publications and scholarly output
    • Educational contributions (teaching, invited lectureships)
    • National or international presentations
    • Leadership roles, committee service, or awards
    • Significant scientific or clinical research contributions
  2. Curriculum Vitae
    Submission of a current curriculum vitae, clearly highlighting activities and accomplishments from the past five (5) years.

Ongoing Requirements:

1. Fellows must be active dues paying members of NASCI.

2. Fellows must attend the annual meeting to have Fellowship conferred.

3. Fellows must attend an annual meeting a minimum of once every three years.

4. A request for a waiver may be submitted to the Fellowship committee.

5. Waivers may only be given for one year.
